Chiang Mai Pool League

NEW SEASON STARTS FRIDAY 23rd APRIL.

Welcome to brand new home of the Chiang Mai pool league.

The Chiang Mai pool league is a fun social way to spend

Friday evenings.

With 22 teams in 2 divisions with over 130 people playing pool

every week, its a great way to meet local expats and Thai's

whilst having a drink and a game of pool.

We are currently in the close season with the new a season

starting after Songkran.

Blue Sky Bar were crowned the champions for the first time.

About time as they had finished the last 4 seasons in 2nd place.

Oasis finished in runners up spot. They also went on to win the

Chiang Mai pool league, league cup.

The second division title went to Chiangers and Bangers with

Chiangers Chicks finishing in 2nd place. Both of these teams

are promoted to the 1st division at the expense of Em & Em

and On The Rocks.

After Shaun spent hours on next seasons fixture list, trying to work out the best way to play the 4 extra matches in the second division. Whilst going round the bars distributing the list, On The Rocks decided to inform him that they will not be participating in next seasons competition. I would like to pass on my thanks to On The Rocks. Given that the price of a phone call has recently risen to around 0.75Baht/minute it is understandable that, in the 5 weeks since their last match, they had to wait for the new seasons fixture list to be compiled and distributed before informing us that they didn't want to play anymore. CHEERS.

Because of the above, we now have an odd number of teams in Division 2. This means that, unless we are able to get an extra team, all teams will have a week off when they are due to play their games against On The Rocks.
